The Steady Center

Let’s be honest: when you’re already carrying a heavy load—whether that’s navigating a tricky medical diagnosis, caring for someone you love, or just managing a racing mind—being told to “just relax” is incredibly frustrating. When your nervous system is stuck in high gear, your brain doesn’t need a lecture or a platitude. It needs an anchor.

Welcome to The Steady Center. This is a live, 4-week online space designed to help you find your footing when the world feels a bit too shaky. We’ll use simple, evidence-based somatic tools and gentle yoga therapy to safely calm your nervous system from the ground up.

Whether you’re living with chronic pain, treatment fatigue, or just a heart that beats a little too fast when you look at your to-do list, this space is open, inclusive, and built just for you.

What We Are Doing Here

Over four live, 75-minute Zoom sessions, we will explore practical, bite-sized techniques that you can actually use in the middle of a hard day. Because we aren’t recording these sessions, our focus is on somatic imprinting—helping you feel the practices so clearly in your own tissues that you can confidently recreate them at home.

  • Week 1: Grounding & Somatic Stabilization

We start at the very bottom. Before we try to quiet the mind, we have to reassure the body that it is physically supported. We will work with gentle, stable standing postures and resting shapes using the support of a chair, wall, or the floor to build a reliable baseline of physical safety.

  • Week 2: Neural Regulation & Befriending Breath

Think of your breath as a built-in brake pedal for your nervous system. We will explore how the diaphragm works and learn how to gently activate the Vagus nerve using simple, effortless breath techniques that create a feeling of internal containment and comfort.

  • Week 3: Somatic Release & Taming the Mind

Anxiety loves to hide in our tissues, particularly in the deep core muscles. This week, we will use gentle spinal movements and somatic shaking to safely discharge built-up physical tension, pairing it with a mindful body scan to help us step back from the stories the mind likes to spin.

  • Week 4: Self-Compassion & Integrated Presence

We wrap up by shifting away from the harsh inner critic and moving toward radical kindness. You will learn soft, supportive hand gestures and heart-opening shapes, map out your own sustainable 10-minute daily home routine, and settle into a deep, restorative guided rest practice.

Who This Is For

This course is a welcoming, inclusive space. It is designed with deep care for individuals living with cancer, the tireless caregivers who forget to breathe, the healthcare professionals holding up the line, and anyone who simply needs a gentle place to land. No prior yoga experience is required. If you can breathe, you can do this practice.

Come as you are—in your most comfortable clothes, on a kitchen chair, or propped up with pillows. You belong here.

After each live class, you will receive a direct, practical follow-up email from me detailing exactly how to practice what we learned during the week.

I look forward to practicing with you.
